PRINT EDITION EXPLAINED

A print edition is a series of prints produced in the same way. Each print has its own unique number and is signed by Michael. The numbering follows established rules. The number 3/25 for example shows that the print is the third print of an edition of twenty five. Outside the official edition there are a few so called Artist Proofs. These are numbered A.P.

SCREENPRINTS

Michael starts making his screen prints on his iPad using multiple digital colour layers. He then works together with master screen print maker Wim Legrand of Black River Studio to translate the digital files as screen prints. Each colour layer is printed separately by hand-pulling paint through fabric screens. The end result is a beautifully textured, organic artwork.

DIGITAL PRINTS

All Michaelʼs digital (Giclée) artworks are printed on archival Hahnemühle German Etching paper 310gsm for exceptional quality, bright colours and crisp details.

ORIGINAL ARTWORKS

Select original artworks are available for purchase on the shop. All original artworks are signed by Michael.

CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY

Certificates of Authenticity are provided for all artworks sold through our shop. This document, which is signed by Michael, verifies the authenticity of the artwork. The document also provides more information on the artwork (title, year, edition no, technique).

COPYRIGHT OF AN IMAGE

Upon purchasing an artwork from Michael, you become the owner of the physical piece. However, the copyright remains with Michael Beckurts and you may not reproduce the image without his written consent.

PAPER HANDLING

When unpacking the artwork, make sure your hands are washed, clean and dry. Remove the rolled print gently from its packaging tube. Always lift the print by opposite corners, letting the print bow a little in the middle. Be careful while lifting because prints are vulnerable to crescent moon-shaped creases. Prints are best unpacked with the assistance of your framer.
